The Offline Virtual Machine Servicing Tool is updated to support Hyper-V and the latest versions of System Center Configuration Manager, Virtual Machine Manager and Windows Server Update Services (WSUS). Part of the Solution Accelerators family, this tool is backwards-compatible with version 1.0 of the accelerator.

Both the Cisco CallManager and Cisco CTIManager service will crash after 248 days of continuous system uptime. This will result in a loss of JTAPI and call services. The event message “Avoided negative deltaTime” will print in the CUCM SDL traces just before the event occurs. No indication of this message is written to the RTMT or event logs.

Affected products include all 5.0(X), 5.1(X), 6.0(X) and 6.1(X) releases of Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CallManager). You must reboot the affected nodes - not just the Cisco CallManager or Cisco CTIManager service - to reset the timer as a workaround before 248 days of system uptime elapses (since the last reboot). Registered customers can obtain an upgrade to their respective Call Manager versions to resolve this issue.

Tech.Ed EMEA 2008 IT Professionals @ Barcelona (3-7 Nov 2008)

At one of the Unified Communications interactive (chalk-talk) session chaired by a number of Microsoft OCS product team members this week, I raised the question on update notifications and availability for the OCS product suite.

The short official answer was that this will be addressed but no time line was discussed. In the future, updates should be accessible through Microsoft / Windows Update in addition to the usual source at the Download Center*. Or you can always keep a close tab of this blog
