Scenario: You received what appears to be a typical Lync online meeting invitation in your Outlook Inbox. Clicking on the “Join Lync meeting” or copy and paste the URL link directly into a supported browser kicks starts your locally installed copy of full Lync 2010 client with latest CU6 patch (4.0.7577.4103). The latter launches and you successfully join the meeting.
Instance Message, VoIP audio and video appear to work as expected. Nevertheless, when the presenter starts to share something, say a PowerPoint presentation, you are greeted with a very strange error message:
The presenter is sharing content that requires Microsoft Lync 2010. Click Join to use the new version so that you see all of the content. [ Join ]
You double-checked and ascertained that everything is in order. So what could be wrong?
