Hyper-V: VM Fail to Start

When you start a child partition (VM) with its DVD drive still connected to an image file that is no longer available, such as in the case of the ISO image saved on an external storage, the following error will return:

The Application encountered an error while attempting to change the state of ‘vm_name’.

”vm_name” failed to start.

Failed to open attachment ‘\??\F:\vista.iso’. Error: ‘The system cannot find the path specified.’ (0×80070003).

Simply remove the reference to the image file and the VM will start normally.
