Microsoft Security Assessment Tool 4.0

An organization’s security posture measured holistically takes into account not just technology but also process and the people element. Together, they are vital to help keep up with an evolving security threat landscape.

Microsoft Security Assessment Tool 4.0 is an update to the original Microsoft Security Risk Self-Assessment Tool (MSRSAT, 2004) and Microsoft Security Assessment Tool 2.0 (2006). It comprises of both the Business Risk Profile and Defense in Depth Assessments.

The survey questions, prescriptive guidance and recommendations* are based on industry standard like ISO 17799, NIST-800.x and Microsoft’s own Trustworthy Computing Group (TCG). Upon completion of the assessment, the results can be anonymously uploaded and use for comparision against industry peers and norms of similar sector and size.
