This latest KB969819 hotfix for the OCS 2007 R2 Group Chat covers the issues for server and client components listed here:

- Update for Office Communications Server 2007 R2, Group Chat Server and Group Chat Compliance Servers: July 2009 (KB969819)

If needed, such as when OCS 2007 R2 is running on Windows Server 2008, make sure that you execute the hotfixes using an elevated administrative account. No restarts are required for the updates.

For KB969819, pay special attention to the stated pre-requisites before you install the update, including shutting down all group chat servers and the restart sequence after application of the update. Additionally, note that you have to manually follow the workaround instructions to add a new server into an existing Group Chat Server pool (due to use of MSI update files aka .msp files instead of complete installer):

<driver letter>:\Program Files\Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2\Group Chat Server\ServerConfigTool.exe /i

This update brings the various Group Chat components to 3.5.6907.41.
