TIP #1314: Office Web App and New-OfficeWebAppsFarm (Part II)

In a previous post (TIP #1313), you encountered the following error despite having deployed a valid certificate on the Office Web App server:

New-OfficeWebAppsFarm : Office Web Apps was unable to find the specified certificate.

To fix this, assure that the WAC certificate is configured with a valid entry in the Friendly Name field besides the CN and SAN. A matching friendly name must be supplied against the parameter -CertificateName as illustrated:

New-OfficeWebAppsFarm -InternalURL  “https://lyncWAC01.domain.net” -CertificateName “lyncWAC01.domain.net”

Additionally, either htpp or https is mandatory to avoid the message:

New-OfficeWebAppsFarm : The URL for the Office Web Apps Server farm must use either the HTTP or HTTPS scheme, and must not contain a non-default port, a path, or URL parameters.

Technorati tags: Microsoft Lync Server/Client, PowerShell
